LTT - SBC (page 5): Raichur pics. The first major halt into Karnataka for train # 1013 is Raichur. The scheduled arrival is @ 1153 hrs. The train arrived into Raichur @ 1215 hrs. The scheduled departure time is 1155 hrs. The actual departure happened @ 1222 hrs. HOME |

As the train reaches the outskirts of Raichur, it meets up with a UBL WDG4 # 12016 :'Ugly Duckling'. It was the power for the open BOXN car rake. Note the semaphore signal. Also notice that the man walking past the WDG4 is completely dwarfed, suggesting the sheer size of the beast(loco). |

| The time is 1215hrs. Train #1013 reaches Raichur. I took this opportunity of taking a picture of the loco. After making sure that there were no RPF officers around and after politey requesting the loco pilot, this picture was captured. The loco-driver was actually quiet happy and willingly stood at the door of the cab to be photographed. WONDERFUL SPIRIT !!!! | |

| The time is 1222 hrs. 1013 departs RC. It crosses the GTL(Guntakal diesel shed) WDM2# 17689 hauling a load of open BOXN rake idlying on the loop lines. The loco-pilot is busy chatting with the locals while he waits for the starter signal. Note the diamond symbol for the Guntakal shed imprinted on the front face of the loco. Also note the single beam headlamp and the flasher light on it's side. |
